Mary’s “Influencer” project

In the past two weeks there were two days in which Mary presented us the project that she did. For me it was really cool because I learned a lot of things that she explained to us and it was really interesting also. Here are some things that I learned:

Influence: The capacity to have an affect on the character, development, or behaviour of someone or something, or the effect itself.

Persuade: Cause someone to do something through reasoning or argument.

Coerce: Persuade (an unwilling person) to do something by using force or threat.

Vital behaviors: Something that you need to do to accomplish a goal.

Daniela Guzman

This week Daniela Guzman came to Acton to tell us her journey. It was really cool because she said a lot of interesting things that she went through and she said that it was really challenging where she works. Something that I learned is that there can be a lot of things that you can do but you have to find what fits you.

Here are some pictures and the videos from her talk:

Art

This week in Art we did a something that we wanted but in a pop art style. What I drew was kind of really hard for me because I was trying to draw a soccer ball and a goal and I had never done this. It wasn’t that bad but I think that I could have done it better.

Here are some pictures:

Online Course

The online course that I am doing is called “Valoración de futbolistas con el método AHP”, in english is “Soccer assessment  with AHP method”.

It has been really cool because they teach you and show you a lot of things, they have a lot of facts that they show that look very true. I also liked that they really try to explain and for us to understand very good because it is really important.

Some of the things that I have learned are:

In spain, most of the soccer clubs get the profit from mostly merchandising, tv and the stadium.

I also learned some webpages that they say in the course that are the best to compare everything that you need in soccer because we are going to need them later.

The assessment of goods and assets is a regulated profession.

The comparison methods are based in obtaining the value of something comparing it to a similar thing.

Interview Juan Martinez

Cooking Class

This week we started our cooking class, we made a pizza that was really delicious. Right now I will just tell you my experience and when I get the recipe I will post it here.

My Experience was really good because I really liked that my pizza tasted really good and I also liked the process. There were some parts of the process that I thought that my pizza was not going to be good because some things went wrong but then I managed to go back on track in the process.

Here are some pictures of my pizza:

Carpentry

At Acton we just finished the carpentry class. It was really cool because I learned a lot of stuff and made two things. First we did a project that everyone had to do, it was a shoe cleaning box. The second project was something that you wanted to do, I made a phone base. It was really cool because the base was perfect for my phone and it has a really cool design.

 Here are some pictures:

Mafer Gisbert

This week’s hero in Acton was an ophthalmologist called Mafer Gisbert. I really liked her talk a lot because she said that there are some times that you are just not going to want to keep going but that is your choice. That is the most important thing that I learned from her. I liked that she also showed us also some medical things that she uses. Something that was also really interesting for me was that she didn’t know what she wanted to do and work until the last year of school. She has also helped a lot poor families and that is another thing that I admire from her.

Stephanie Zelaya

On Tuesday Stephanie Zelaya came to Acton and talked to us about her journey. It was really cool because it was like and example of the book that we are reading in Acton that is “the start-up of you“. What she said was literally what we are reading in Acton and there I could see that it is very useful. She is a singer and she will release her first album in February 2015. My greatest learning was that your family is something that can always help you in what you are doing.
